How to add chat to your website
It would be nice to put a chat system into your website so that you can confer with your customers in real time. A chat system is something that allows you or any of your employees to talk to your visitors or customers about a product or a service that you’re offering. The chat service is perfect for anybody who has an online business. It’s a good way to facilitate orders. It also gives your site a feel as if a real person is manning it.
A good chat system to install in your website is Crafty Syntax. It is a chat program that can be setup in your website so that you install a real-time chat system.
To install the Crafty Syntax chat program, follow these steps:
1. Log-in to your hosting server.
2. Add a MySQL database entry for use with Crafty Syntax. Take note of the details of your newly installed database. You’re going to need information such as SQL server, database, username, and password.
3. Now go back to the hosting Control Panel and look for the Fantastico icon.
4. On the list of programs, look for Crafty Syntax. It should be under chat service.
5. Proceed to install it. The files needed would be placed on your server.
6. When the finish installation button appears, click on it.
7. Open a web browser and type this link: http://www.yourdomain.com/livehelp/setup.php.
Note: Change www.yourdomain.com to the actual name of your site.
8. An installation screen would show up. Select the language and New Installation type on that window.
