Making a website that hosts a forum is as simple as making a blog site. All you really have to do is to access your hosting control panel and install the necessary files in your server. Here’s how to do it:
1. Log-in to your hosting control panel.
2. Look for the Fantastico icon. Click on it.
3. On the left side of the new window that appeared, look for SMF (Simple Machines Forum) or any other forum software of your choice.
4. Determine the installation folder of the forum. If you want it on your main page, just leave the field blank.
5. Now access your website using a web browser.
6. There should be instructions appearing about installing the SMF forum on your website.
7. Get ready with the necessary information like the MySQL server, username, and password. However, for the quick install of SMF on some hosting servers, these details are handled automatically by the host (like in WordPress).
8. Set the admin access username and password of your forum.
9. Once the installation is finished, log-in to the admin panel and do further modifications on your forum as needed.
It’s that easy! Now you can invite your friends over to share their thoughts, initiate some discussion, and get your forum all fired up for the internet.
