December 5, 2019, Microsoft announced its intention to make major changes to its Azure certification program. The goal was to make Azure credentials more role-based. The announcement of a new role-basedcertification path also came with the news of the retirement of certainMicrosoft Azure exams by the end of 2018. Microsoft has launched new Azure certificates since this announcement, and many of the older role-based Azure certificates have been retired. This was based upon the feedback received from the testtakers. This blog article aims to provide information about the new Microsoft Azurepathway.
NewMicrosoft Azure Certification Track
The Azure role-basedAzure credentials are now available in three levels: the Fundamentals, Associate and Expert. These include Azure Fundamentals; Azure Administrator Associate;Azure Developer Associate; Azure Security Engineer Associate; Azure DataEngineer Associate; Azure DevOps Engineer Expert; Azure Solution ArchitectExpert. This blog will detail the new role-based Azure certificate.
Azure Fundamentals
Microsoft AZ-900 is the foundational-level certification exam for the newly introduced Azure path. This exam is for candidates who want to validate their basic knowledge of Cloud services usingMicrosoft Azure. This exam does not require a technical background. To increase their chances of passing the exam, they will need to have a basic understanding of Cloud concepts. The first step in the Azure certification pathway is MicrosoftAZ-900. Suffice tomention that it is optional but demonstrating your fundamental knowledge in thedomain has a lot of advantages, especially for the students with a non-technicalbackground. This exam covers the following domains:
Cloud concepts;
Core AzureServices;
Azure Pricing& Support;
Security, compliance, trust, and privacy
There are no prerequisites for this Microsoftcertification exam but the candidates should be conversant with the Cloud servicesand the Microsoft Azure platform.
Azure Administrator Associate
Candidates must pass the Microsoft AZ-103 exam to earn this credential. The badge is also awarded to those who pass the test. This certificate is required for the Microsoft Certified AzureDeveloper Associate credentials and Microsoft Certified Azure DevOps Expert credentials.
