Things seem to be moving well at the weekly status meeting.
Many team members reported that 95% of their tasks were completed. They have had to focus on other priorities for a while, but they are nearly done.
The Next Week
Things seem to be going well again. There are more 95% complete numbers. ?Very nice. They look great in your fancy project management program.
These are many of the same tasks that were reported to be 95% complete last week.
It could be an anomaly.
The Next
Grrrrr. Some of these tasks have been at 95% for several weeks. What happened to the space-time continuum.
Talk to the team members to find out why. ?Isn’t progress being made? ? “Maybe it’s you, you ask?”
Perhaps it is someone else’s fault. Perhaps the scope was not clearly defined and is growing for a reason. It’s time to get rid of your business analyst.
Soon, you will realize that many of the other tasks they have on their plate are taking priority. They are definitely more important. You can’t continue doing this! Many things are almost done but then they get thrown away by other fire drills. What can you do?

I know what my problem was. How would you solve this problem? What tools and methods would your team use to solve this problem?
